Fellowship Groups are medium-sized communities that meet weekly in homes throughout the city of Seattle.
Fellowship Groups are in many ways typical of other social gatherings in Seattle. Yet, they are distinct missional communities in that they are founded and shaped by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. These communities seeks to live out the implications of the Gospel by looking up (big conversation around God’s truth) looking in (building authentic relationships) and looking out (serving in the city together).
HOW OFTEN DO THEY MEET?
They typically meet once a week for 2 hours. Groups meet consistently on monthly-cycles (Feb-April) (June-July) (Sept-Nov). Our groups take purposeful pauses so that newcomers can join and leaders and members can re-evaluate their commitment to the group.
WHAT DO GROUPS DO IN ADDITION TO STUDYING GOD'S WORD?
Fellowship Groups are different than your traditional Bible Study. In addition, our groups engage relationally and socially with each other and the city. Most of our groups enjoy regular meals together and also engage Seattle through service and mission. FGs are the main expression of the church mobilized.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN A GROUP?
Fellowship Groups are how people experience what it means to fall in love with Jesus and live the life of a disciple. We hope that they create space for all people to consider -- those who have an existing faith in Jesus, and those who are uncertain what they believe. FGs are the primary way our church connects you to meaningful community, which is one of the many ways God transforms us as growing disciples. Whether you are new to Sideris or have been attending for years, we encourage you to help us cultivate considering community by joining a Fellowship Group.
