The Sideris Care Team (led by the deacons) is here to help connect you to additional support and resources. This might be in the areas of spiritual, emotional, mental, career, family, marital, or financial health.

After Jesus ascended into Heaven he sent the Spirit to bring gifts to his brothers and sisters so that they would act as his hands and feet through the local church. The first step toward “walking the road of life with Jesus” is admitting the “we all need support” and”I wasn’t meant to do this alone.”

THE TRACIE FUND

Financial Assistance for Professional Care

On Valentine’s Day 2020 we created a special fund for all Sideris Church family to receive financial support toward professional mental health or addiction recovery counseling. We believe that holistic healing (spiritual, mental, emotional, physical) is God’s desire for his people and that the availability and access we have as Seattleites to a variety of professional care options is part of God’s common grace in our world.

We believe as a local church family we can join together to help our fellow brothers and sisters get the care that may be beyond their financial reach. We also want to help remove any stigma that “counseling” or “therapy” might still attached to these services. Of course God is all-powerful to heal apart from these medical interventions, but we know that God has and will continue to use medicine to bring help to his people and the world.

The Tracie Fund was created in loving memory of our Sideris sister Tracie Remick, whose brave and courageous journey through the ups and down of mental health and addiction recovery inspired us all. In fact, it was the loving and kind words of encouragement from a professional nurse in one of these settings that God used to ignite Tracie’s journey back to the Lord as an adult. We expect this fund to have a profound and lasting impact on the lives of many more as a result of Tracie’s bold and inspiring witness (see her testimony below).
