WHAT IS THE ALPHA COURSE?
Alpha is a 10-week course exploring the fundamental questions and answers of the human experience from a Christian perspective. We sit around dinner tables, share a free meal together, watch a video talk on a new topic each week and then we share our own opinions about the talk and topic.
How dO I know if Alpha IS for ME?
Millions of folks around the world have tried Alpha and you should try it too. If you are interested in having big conversations about the foundational questions for life then you will like Alpha. Pretty much everyone who tries Alpha says its more fun to talk about big things than they thought it would be.
Since Alpha is an introduction to Christian faith and ideas, it helps to be yet least a little curious about who Jesus was and taught, as you will learn about Jesus and the movement he started 2000 years ago. However, many people come simply to understand a good friend or partner better who may happen to be Christian. Others try Alpha because they once had faith but it was lost somewhere along the way and they wonder if it’s findable again. We also know many who have come to Alpha because they’ve never heard a clear and thorough presentation of Jesus and Christianity and Alpha definitely gives you that.
There are lots of reasons to try Alpha and in the end it really is up to you.
When & Where?
We host this course with a few other Seattle faith communities, so it’s not just Sideris folks and we intentionally don’t host it at a church building, but instead at a fun private event space near South Lake Union called
The Swedish Club.
