Gospel Class on March 16th [after church]

RSVP here.

What does our church mean when we say “the gospel”?

In this class, we take a very nuanced look at this word and make sure we mean the same thing that Jesus and the Apostles meant when they used it.

What was the original message of Jesus? We think that how churches answer this question is the most important aspect to consider when considering faith communities. In this class, we give an in-depth presentation of Jesus’ gospel passage and His hopes for His followers.

Understanding and Pursuing God’s Call On Your Life with Pastor Dave Evanger

  • 2004 Northwest 63rd Street Seattle, WA, 98107 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

We are excited to announce that our monthly Seattle Fellows meeting will feature Pastor Dave Evanger of Sideris Church in Ballard. He will be addressing the call of God which applies to all true disciples of Jesus as we live out our journey of faith, trust and service.

In 2007, Dave Evanger’s sister, Kim was struck and killed by a semi-truck while she was riding a bike. This personal tragedy dramatically changed the trajectory of his life as he heard the call of God.  The Consider Project and Sideris Church was born out of this deep sense of God’s calling on his life to invite people in Seattle to consider the gospel of Jesus.

Have you thought about what it means to be called sons and daughters of God? What does it mean to be called to reflect the image of God in our families, in our work or vocation, and in our communities of like-minded disciples? How does God call us to use our God-bestowed talents, gifts and resources to advance his kingdom and to enable the creation to flourish?

We cordially invite you to attend this opportunity to consider what it means to pursue God’s calling upon your life.

Date: Saturday, March 8, 2025
Time: 9:00 am - 11:00 am PT
Speaker: Dave Evanger

Ballard Prayer Walk + Social Hangout

  • 2004 Northwest 63rd Street Seattle, WA, 98107 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Hey Party People!

This Saturday night we are thrilled to be hosting a Prayer Walk + Social Hangout in downtown Ballard.

As most of you know we have been given an amazing gift of a new building just blocks away from the center of social life in Ballard. As we take steps towards embracing our new location for Sunday worship, we want EVERYONE to take part in the spiritual transition process.

One simple way anyone can participate in that is through prayer... and specifically through prayer walking through a new geographic space. Whether you’ve done this before or not is irrelevant. We will have some prompts to help you navigate this simple but profound exercise of faith.

What will it look like?

  • Meeting Point: We'll gather at Ballard Baptist Church at 7 PM. (2004 NW 63rd St, Seattle, WA 98107)

  • Prayer Walk: After assembling, we’ll distribute prayer cards with specific prayer points to guide us as we walk. We'll split into smaller groups, each taking different routes toward the heart of Ballard.

  • Social Hangout: The walk will culminate at one of Ballard’s local watering holes, where we’ll hang out and party like only Jesus people can: celebrating God's provision of a new space, sharing our spiritual observations from the walk, and dreaming together about what this next chapter of ministry will look like here in Seattle.

Please RSVP HERE if you plan to attend so we know to wait until you arrive before starting the walk… and/or please call Joshua Patterson at 206-877-2947 with questions of for more information.

Family Membership Class happening June 1st from 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM. Coffee, a Light breakfast, and a FULL LUNCH will be provided!

Here at Sideris, we think of membership as ‘family’ - We are part of God’s family! In our day and age, it’s strange to consider a group of people as a family but it’s exactly the vision for communal life we see grip Jesus’ followers in the New Testament. In this class, we unpack what it means to be a family member at a church in this day-and-age in a city like Seattle. This includes how we love and hold responsibility for and towards one another and envision our mission toward the city. We designed this 1 time, “no strings attached” class with plenty of room to ask questions, and our pastors use this class as a starting point to get together with all who have gone through it to unpack their thoughts, questions, and desires to join the family. We do this to help people conceive what we hope our church is like, so we hope that all who are beginning to call Sideris “home” (a family term!) will check it out!

There comes a defining moment in each person’s life when they must make a serious decision about who or what they will devote their life to. This does not mean that the consideration of big questions ceases, but it does mean that consideration continues under the conviction of a made decision.

If you've ever wondered about the significance of baptism and why it's important, we invite you to join us for a special 30-minute session immediately following the service. Whether you're curious or considering taking this step, this class is designed to provide clarity and understanding.

Date: May 5th & May 26th [Sundays]
Time: Right after Service for 30 mins!
Location: Upstairs Offices

Come and explore the meaning and purpose behind baptism, and discover why it's a meaningful step in the journey of faith. We welcome your questions, your curiosity, and your presence.

We look forward to seeing you there!
