Ballard Food Drive — November at Sideris

This November, we’re coming together to support our Ballard neighbors in a practical way. With many families facing food insecurity and the recent end of SNAP benefits, the need for community support is greater than ever.

Throughout the month of November, Sideris will be hosting a Food Drive to help stock the shelves of the Ballard Food Bank, which provides essential groceries and resources to local families in need.

Bring non-perishable food items to church any Sunday in November and drop them off at the collection area at the Fireside Room (Please drop off in the appropriate bin).

Donations will be delivered weekly by City Team to the Ballard Food Bank, ensuring that your generosity reaches neighbors quickly.

—————————————————————————————————

Ballard Community Dinners — Winter Clothing Bank

As temperatures drop, many of our unhoused neighbors need reliable access to warm gear. We’re turning our weekly Community Dinner into a steady place to collect and distribute winter clothing—and we could use your help.

How to Help:
1) Donate winter essentials
(new or gently used, clean, and in good condition):

  • Coats & jackets, sweaters, long-sleeve shirts

  • Pants & thermal underwear

  • Thick socks, rain gear

  • Gloves, hats, scarves

  • Sturdy shoes

  • Blankets, sleeping bags*, tents*

*Note: We cannot accept t-shirts, shorts, accessories, household items, or anything broken, torn, or stained.

Drop-off: Drop-off bins will be located at the Fireside Room (Please drop off in the appropriate bin)

2) Volunteer at the dinners
Help us sort and distribute clothing so guests can quickly find what they need.

Thank you for caring for our Ballard neighbors this winter!

The Foyer Creation Project — PLEDGE SUNDAY - Nov. 16

In 2024 Sideris was gifted this amazing 115 year old building by Ballard Baptist Church. From day one our leadership team knew that the one thing lacking from this amazing property was a large open gathering space to allow the freedom of movement and conversation essential for Sunday mornings as well as special weekday events and classes. From then until now we have been working with architects, designers and contractors to prepare a plan including updated electrical, mechanical and structural systems to bring the building into the 21st century. That day has finally arrived!

  • This Foyer project is the tangible extension of our gospel vision and principles into a living space. We are a church that longs to be known as a people and place of connectedness, conversation and consideration. This much needed addition to our floor plan creates the spaces that create this culture.

  • In order to move from dream to reality, the SLT has set a target fundraising goal of $450,000 to be raised before the completion of the project near the middle to end of 2026.

  • If you consider Sideris home, we ask you to prayerfully consider how much – big or small – you might be able to contribute towards this goal — over and above your regular giving.

  • We will be inviting people to confidentially share their financial participation in this fundraising effort during worship on Sunday, November 16th.

To Read about some “Frequently Asked Questions” click here.

We believe that as a united body we can reach this sizable goal if we all contribute together in the ways and means God has generously blessed each of us.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this process or the financial needs, please set up a meeting with someone from the SLT by emailing SLT@siderischurch.com

ALPHA: Stay Curious | Wednesday Nights starting Jan. 28, 2026

What is ALPHA?

Alpha is a 10-week series of conversations over a meal about things we all question in life: Why do bad things happen to good people? What's the purpose of life? What's next? If you're looking for a judgment-free space to ask hard questions and share your own opinion, there's a place for you.

Topic: Panel Discussion with 4 Wiser/Older Saints on Stewardship & Generosity

We are super excited to be having another Men's event and especially excited because the topic and the panelists are very timely. The impetus for this conversation at this Men's Breakfast has been the many questions and conversations Ryan and I have been recieving from young men in particular surrounding the Foyer building project and its’ fundraiser. I know it is stirring up many new considerations for many of you around idea of praying about generosity and stewardship. Many of you have asked Ryan and I for wisdom… and to be honest… we don’t always have the wisdom you need because we too are new to most all of this stuff too… and so…

It got us starting conversations with some older wiser men in our community you do have much more experience and wisdom in considering these matters and we have 4 such men — Jeff, Brian, Ed, and Marc — who have agreed to sit in on a panel discussion about topics like stewardship, generosity, managing ones money, and kingdom investing. Each of these men have been on the planet for at least 6 decades ;) and each have been successful in ways that have required deep consideration of these topics.

In our conversations leading up to this breakfast I have already been so blessed to hear them speak with honesty and humility about their growing pains in these areas and so I am very excited for you all to get in on the conversation.

So please start thinking about your questions for these wise men, as the majority of our time together will be Q&A based discussion. Please use seize this opportunity to grow in your wisdom.

And a special pre-thanks to Jeff, Brian, Ed, and Marc for their willingness to sit center stage and be grilled on this seldom discussed and sometimes uncomfortable topic.

Family Membership Class happening OCT. 11th, from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Coffee, a Light breakfast, and a FULL LUNCH will be provided!

Here at Sideris, we think of membership as ‘family’ - We are part of God’s family! In our day and age, it’s strange to consider a group of people as a family but it’s exactly the vision for communal life we see grip Jesus’ followers in the New Testament. In this class, we unpack what it means to be a family member at a church in this day-and-age in a city like Seattle. This includes how we love and hold responsibility for and towards one another and envision our mission toward the city. We designed this 1 time, “no strings attached” class with plenty of room to ask questions, and our pastors use this class as a starting point to get together with all who have gone through it to unpack their thoughts, questions, and desires to join the family. We do this to help people conceive what we hope our church is like, so we hope that all who are beginning to call Sideris “home” (a family term!) will check it out!

Praise + Prayer Night

WHEN: FRIDAY | Aug 29 | 7PM

Where: Golden Gardens ParK
What (:) happens at our Praise + Prayer Nights at Sideris?

Praise + Prayer Nights at Sideris are extended times of music and prayer—set apart from our usual Sunday rhythm—where we intentionally gather to seek the Lord together. While God is always near and His presence is constant, these evenings are an invitation to slow down, re-orient our hearts to that reality, and become more attuned to His grace, mercy, and peace.

Through unhurried musical worship, reflective prayer, and space to simply be still before God, we hope you’ll find rest and renewal. Whether you come to sing, to be sung over, or to bring the weight of your week (or the summer ahead) before the Lord, this is a space for you. It’s a place to surrender your burdens and receive the comfort only He can give.

If you need someone to pray with you, or if you’re carrying something heavy, this is a safe and sacred space to lay those prayers at the altar of praise.

“Pray constantly, give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Don’t stifle the Spirit.”

Dear Friends of CSLI,

Please join us this Saturday, May 10th, 9 am at Sideris Church in Seattle for fellowship and to consider the challenges and opportunities of "Living with Courage in a Post-Everything World" with our guest speaker, Nathan Betts.

What does it look like to follow Christ in a world in which myriad challenges confront our faith?

Is it possible to overcome the various temptations that compromise our loyalty to Christ?

The story of a young man named Daniel in the ancient city of Babylon shows us a way to live faithfully for Christ while under immense pressure.

Nathan Betts Bio:
Nathan Betts is a speaker and writer based near Seattle, Washington. He holds theology degrees from King’s College London, Tyndale University College, with additional postgraduate studies at The Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics.

His speaking ministry has taken him to the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. Nathan has addressed students at several universities across North America. He has had the distinct honor of speaking to members of the US Air Force, to members of the Canadian Parliament, and has spoken to different staff groups in Big Tech on matters of faith and culture.

After spending over a decade traveling across the globe presenting the message of Jesus Christ to the big questions of life, Nathan currently works as a freelance speaker and consultant in Washington to churches, schools, and non-profit organizations.

His writing has been featured in several publications and newspapers including The Seattle Times, Christianity Today, The Christian Post, and Lifeway Voices.

Nathan was born and raised in Canada. He lived, studied, and worked in England before moving, with his wife Brittany and their children, to the US.

Join Us for the Final Week of 40 Days of Prayer

As we enter the final week of 40 Days of Prayer, we invite you to join us in Ballard to seek God's heart for the lost and hurting in our city. This week’s focus calls us to intercede for those far from hope, healing, and home—believing that Jesus still pursues, restores, and saves.

Come pray with us as we unite with churches across Seattle, longing for spiritual awakening and transformation in every neighborhood. Let’s finish this journey strong—together, on our knees.

Schedule -
Monday: 10AM to 8PM
Tuesday: 5:30AM to 8PM
Wednesday: 10AM to 8PM with live worship set starting 6:30PM
Thursday: 10AM to 8PM
Friday: 10AM to 8PM with live worship set starting 6:30PM

We also are hosting a 40 Days Celebration Night on April 13th, 6:30PM. For more information, check out our events page!

Gospel Class on March 16th [after church]

RSVP here.

What does our church mean when we say “the gospel”?

In this class, we take a very nuanced look at this word and make sure we mean the same thing that Jesus and the Apostles meant when they used it.

What was the original message of Jesus? We think that how churches answer this question is the most important aspect to consider when considering faith communities. In this class, we give an in-depth presentation of Jesus’ gospel passage and His hopes for His followers.
