OUR METHODOLOGY
Sacrificially caring for the poor, downtrodden, and less fortunate has always been and will always be a true mark of the people of God. At Sideris we take this seriously by leaning into two realities:
(1)
Every Christian is called to Love & serve THEIR CITY & Its Downtrodden,
So The church’s job is to Prepare christians new and old to be ready to do that work.
(2)
There are so many great organizations doing this work better than the church could do on its own,
So the church should send its prepared workers to help those great organizationS.
OUR PARTNERS
Christians being Christians by serving the city through non-Sideris organizations happens primarily through the mobilization of cohort members. Each cohort identifies which renewal needs resonate with the heart of the group and then they partner with local non-profits to serve those needs here in the city of Seattle. In addition to serving with our hands, Sideris also donates 10% of our budget to organizations working here in the city and abroad. Some of the organizations we partner with include:
R.E.S.T
aiding women transitioning from the sex trade
New Horizons
helping youth experiencing homelessness
Union Gospel Mission

FamilyWorks - Wallingford Food Bank

Fremont/Wallingford Community Dinners

CRU InnerCity

Bridges Humanitarian Initiative

Alliance for Children Everywhere

How do I start serving?
We create the most connections between Jesus and those in need of renewal by bringing the expectation of serving and outreach down to a smaller unit of scale — which is the cohort level. It is here that we see a true manifestation of God’s abundance and creative love for those in need. So the best way to start serving others is to join a cohort and be a strong voice and advocate in your group for becoming as missionally-engaged and impactful as possible. Bring up tangible ideas for serving and plan serve projects for your group.
