Outdoor Worship July 12 @11am

With the changing tides of covid-19 cases across the country we have taken a long hard look at our plans moving forward. We cannot say with certainty what July 19th will look like, but after praying, discussing, and going back and forth, we have decided to stick with our original plan to meet in-person this Sunday, July 12th, for an outdoor worship service of songs and sermon. This will begin at starting at 11am in Wallingford in the parking lot of the Nazarene Church behind Dick's Hamburgers on 45th.

Having weighed many variables, we feel that the benefit to many will be significant. The power that is corporate celebration and worship is an irreplaceable experience that reorients us and reminds us of our identity as a member of the larger body of Christ. We believe the value inherent in corporate worship is sufficient to step into the real risks associated with meeting outdoors and in-person. So please pray about your own participation as well as the safety of the event as a whole.

We also what to highlight that we are taking an incremental approach to our re-opening plan. This means that instead of waiting until we know for certain that 95% of us will able and comfortable to meet in-person, we've believe it is prudent to provide small steps and different spaces and opportunities for people to express their faith when they feel comfortable. Some people might actually need the spiritual benefits of in-person gatherings more than others. We acknowledge that and want to provide, when safe, those opportunities.

We want you to know that this is the way we think about re-opening because we want to be 100% clear that we do not expect everyone to be ready for this particular step of meeting for an outdoor worship service. That is okay and in now way should you feel pressure. If you are ready, we believe it will bless you and fuel you to love the rest of the body in return.

That being said, here are the things you must know for this weekend.

1. Please PRE-REGISTER -- CLICK HERE as the governor has asked that churches keep records of all in attendance.

2. The event will be still be LIVE-STREAMED for those unable or uncomfortable with attending in person. No one should feel any pressure to attend in person.

3. Since outdoors, this event is WEATHER DEPENDENT.  We will inform you by 3PM on Saturday if we must need to cancel the event. If weather does not cooperate we will provide a live-stream of the service filmed indoors.

4. SAFETY IS A PRIORITY so our safety team will be strictly enforcing our safety plan, including: wearing masks at all times, social distancing from all non-household parties (so NO hugging or physical contact), no communion or notes sheets. Song lyrics will be available on the app and website.

5. DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU ARE SICK, think you might be sick, were around someone sick, or are not 14 days removed from a positive Covid test.

6. BYOC! If you have a lawn chair bring it with you to increase comfort and decrease cleaning. We will have sanitized metal folder chairs for those of us who don't have a chair to bring.

7. PARKING will be on the street or in smaller lot on the west side of the building. Parking attendants will be there to direct you.

8. Note the time change to 11AM START TIME. This is to respect sleeping neighbors. Good reminder to be a good neighbor throughout the whole day... and every day of your life.

9. We will be worshipping in the parking lot of the Nazarene Church behind the Wallingford Dick's Hamburgers. 4401 2nd AVE NE Seattle WA
