NORTHEAST SEATTLE

TUESDAYS @ 6pm

Andrew & Sara-Anne Barfoot

Where are you from & how long have you been in Seattle? They have called Seattle home for over a decade, though their stories began in different places. Andrew, a true southern boy, was born in Virginia and raised in Louisiana before moving to Washington in high school. While he still treasures his southern roots, nearly 30 years in the Pacific Northwest have made him a lifer by today’s standards. For Sara-Anne, when she and Andrew got married, they both felt God’s call to begin their life together in Seattle. That calling has remained steady through many seasons of change, and today they are raising their family in the Bryant neighborhood and enjoy adventuring together.

How did Sideris become home for you? Searching for a church that was meeting in person at the tail end of COVID, we landed at Sideris on the recommendation of a friend. Little did we know that we would never look back, quickly choosing to call it home (we recently became members!)

Why is considering in community important? Considering in community is important because it’s how God designed us! Even Jesus didn’t minister alone, choosing instead to call 12 disciples by his side. While we consider ourselves capable people, we’re humble enough to know we can’t outdo Jesus…and why should we try, as we find great joy in relationships, and have made hospitality a core of our mission as a family.

What is your favorite restaurant or coffee shop in your neighborhood? This is a tough one. We often default to heading down to University Village, as there is so much to enjoy there (Din Tai Fung tends to win for mom and dad, but Shake Shack all day when the kids are in tow). However, it’s also hard to beat the neighborly charm of Mioposto, just two blocks up the hill from our house.
