WHAT IS THE ALPHA COURSE?
Alpha is a 10-week course exploring the fundamental questions and answers of the human experience from a Christian perspective. We sit around dinner tables, share a free meal together, watch a video talk on a new topic each week and then we share our own opinions about the talk and topic.
How dO I know if Alpha IS for ME?
Tens of millions of folks around the world have tried Alpha in over 30 countries so its appeal is proven. If you are interested in having big conversations about the foundational questions for life then we are pretty sure you will enjoy and be glad you experienced Alpha. Pretty much everyone who attends Alpha says in the end it was more fun than they thought it would be.
Having said that, Alpha is an introduction to the basics of Christian faith and ideas, so it does help to be at least a little curious about who Jesus was and why 1/3 of the world calls themselves Christian. You will learn about what makes the Jesus movement unique and why it has made such a impact for so many people over 2000 years.
However, Alpha was not created for those who already understand that impact, it’s for those who are curious or confused about why. Often people have never or only heard a poor inauthentic explanation of Christianity. Others attend Alpha to understand more fully the language of a good friend or partner who happens to be Christian. Others try Alpha because they once had faith but it was lost somewhere along the way.
