Where are you from & how long have you been in Seattle? I grew up in Woodinville, went to college in California but have spent the better part of the last decade on the East Coast. I returned to Seattle about 2 years ago.

How did Sideris become home for you? I have a sister who no longer shares my last name, but she’s pretty involved and invited me to check out Sideris. I’ve got to admit that she was right… I loved it.

Why is considering in community important? I’ve found that truth about God is best discovered through a community that presses into the revealed truth of Christ in the Scriptures. Justice in our community also depends on us speaking truth to one another.

Where are you from & how long have you been in Seattle? I was born and raised in the midwest and am originally from Ohio. I moved out here 5 years ago to work for Amazon. Though I'm no longer at Amazon, I love Seattle and it has become home!

How did Sideris become home for you?  I like to say it happened by accident (thought the Lord knew what he was doing). A close friend of mine was looking for a new church and wanted to visit and invited me because "it's in your neighborhood". I was so struck that first Sunday and then kept visiting and eventually made Sideris home.

Why is considering in community important? We are not meant to do life alone. Community is so special because it is not only a way that you can feel God's love for you and serve those around you, but a way for others to teach you about God. You learn new ways of seeing and being with God through the unique lenses of your brothers and sisters. We are all unique and we get a fuller picture of God when we get to glimpse Him through one another.

What is your favorite restaurant or coffee shop in your neighborhood? I'm hesitant to reveal this because I like never having to wait for a table... but Blue Star Cafe in Wallingford! Try the scone!

Where are you from & how long have you been in Seattle? I grew up in Singapore & Indonesia, moved to Seattle for university 8 years ago and have been here since (minus a 1-year stint in Australia & California).

How did Sideris become home for you? My college roommate wanted to check out a church at random one morning, I urged him to have us just go for a walk instead and he ended up having us walk by and into Sideris, started coming back week after week and participating in Alpha and it became home.

Why is considering in community important? I believe that because we are made in the image of God we all help paint a more complete picture of who God is and getting to consider together in community helps us grow together and can help bring clarity to aspects of the Bible/faith that are challenging to understand.
